Job Duties/Responsibilities
1. At work site, prepare for operations by interfacing with stamping employees from outgoing shift.
2. At the start of the shift, review work schedule, check stamping press, check related process equipment (feed, straightener) and supplies (reels, interleaf) necessary for work to be done.  Then prepare for operations.
3. Load skids of raw material or coils of stamped parts onto payoff, feed through the stamping tool and removing parts from take up upon completion.
4. Operate stamping presses and related process equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures, work instructions, and specifications included in the toolbook (i.e. in-process inspection, packaging specifications, etc.).
5. Responsible for identifying process problems and notifying the appropriate personnel (i.e. setup person, team leader, maintenance, etc.) to arrange for repair.
6. Responsible for identifying changes and/or deviations to standard operating procedures, work instructions, setup sheets, in-process inspection requirements, packaging specifications, and notifying appropriate personnel (i.e. setup person, team leader, supervisor, etc.) in order to have them updated accordingly.  Accurate documentation is critical in our ability to maintain a process that produces quality product on a repetitive basis.
7. Confirm product quality by performing in-process quality checks using a microscope, micro-vu, OGP, comparators and hand tools as required.
8. Quarantine suspect / defective parts from product that meets customer specifications discovered during the shift.
9. Follow Nonconformance procedure for containment of suspect / defective product.

Work with the Quality dept. on quality issues, corrective actions, incident reports and provide responses to data provided by QA.
11. Provide training to less experienced Stamping Press Operators as required.
12. Interact with other manufacturing areas and personnel as required to meet established production schedules and ensure production goals are met.
13. Confer with management and/or other supervisors to resolve production problems.
14. Complete necessary documentation including toolbooks, production logs, labels / tags and quality documents.
15. At the end of the shift, secure all equipment & machinery.
16. Follow policies and procedures as defined in the Interplex Employee Manual.
17. Follow all International Standards that apply to IEP’s certification and QMS.
18. Follow Company Safety rules and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
19. Maintain regular and satisfactory attendance.
20. Perform duties outside or normal work hours as required.
21. Perform other duties as assigned.
22. Maintain excellent housekeeping.

Education /Skills /Qualifications:
Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Must read, write and communicate in English as it relates to this position and safety.
Must successfully complete 90-day probationary period.
Should have 1 to 3 years Stamping Press Operator experience.  Interplex reserves the right to hire and train any candidate or employee on an entry level basis.
Should be cooperative with the ability to work individually or in a team environment (Teamwork).
Should have good communications skills both oral and written.
Should have good prioritization skills with the ability to multi-task.
Should have good organizational and time management skills.
Should have good Initiative with a drive for continuous improvement.
Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word & Excel.
